A police officer caught red-handed accepting bribes
A police officer responsible for special assignments in the department of organizing the activities of police units on the water of the Aviation and Police Department of the Odessa region was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe. The investigation of the case has been completed, as reported by the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Nikcenter reports.
Systematic bribery for transportation permits
This police officer organized systematic bribes for permitting transportation on the Dniester River. Entrepreneurs were asked to pay 100 hryvnias for each passenger for the immediate continuation of passenger transportation activities on river and water transport from docks on the Dniester River in the village of Mayaki. In case of objections, the water police inspector threatened with constant inspections and deprivation of driving licenses.
Dismissed and awaiting court trial
The police officer claimed that all issues could only be resolved by addressing him directly, and promised assistance in resolving problems with district police officers, but a monetary contribution was required for this assistance. He was arrested while receiving 135,000 hryvnias, has been dismissed from his position, and his case has been transferred to court.
