Usain Bolt: No Athlete at 2024 Olympics Capable of Breaking My Records

8-time Olympic champion and world record holder in the 100m and 200m sprints, Jamaican Usain Bolt, has stated that he does not see any athlete at the 2024 Olympics capable of beating his world records.

Bolt on Spotting Talent and the Future of World Records

«Do you think there is someone right now that you look at and feel that he can break the world record? Or do you think that person hasn’t emerged yet?» Bolt was asked by a journalist.

«No, I don’t see that person. Sometimes you can spot talent, but how will it happen? If he develops properly — maybe. But right now I don’t see that person,» he replied.

«There is one young man who caught my attention. His name is Erriyon Knighton and he represents the USA. In 2022, he ran 200m in 19.49 seconds. He just turned 20, so he showed quite good results.»

«But it all depends on the development of talent. It is important to find a good coach who will support and understand how to nurture talent and help it grow,» Bolt added.

Records Set by Usain Bolt in 2009

In 2009, the Jamaican athlete set world records at the World Athletics Championships in the 100m and 200m races. The record in the 100m stands at 9.58 seconds, and in the 200m — 19.19 seconds.
