Ukraine’s Push for NATO Membership
Ukraine is prioritizing diplomatic efforts to sway the United States’ stance on its NATO membership. Yehor Cherniev, head of the Verkhovna Rada’s permanent delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, stresses that despite no official changes in the U.S. position, Ukraine remains steadfast in its pursuit of joining the alliance.
Supported by partner countries and neighboring allies, Ukraine is working towards convincing the United States of the importance of extending a political invitation. Cherniev believes this gesture will send a crucial message to both Ukraine and Russia, demonstrating the Ukrainian people’s resolve to progress and highlighting Russia’s impact on NATO decisions.
