German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Supports Involvement of Russia in World Summit

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has expressed support for the idea of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to invite representatives from Russia to the second World Summit planned for the end of 2024. This was reported by Kontrakty.UA citing TSN and UNIAN.

«I am very pleased that the Ukrainian president has put forward such an initiative for Russia to be present at the next meeting. This is important,» Scholz said.

However, the German Chancellor opposed any proposals that could lead to the destruction of Ukrainian sovereignty. «Peace and security must be ensured, but not at the cost of subjugating Ukraine. We cannot allow a new war,» emphasized Scholz.
