SBU Filed 45 Charges Against Collaborators in Donetsk Oblast
During the first five months of 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Donetsk Oblast has filed 45 charges against collaborators and issued 9 verdicts against them. This was reported by the chief press secretary of the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, Halyna Pryshchepa, at a briefing, as reported by Ukrinform.
Collaborator Engaged in Propaganda Events
According to her, the security service has gathered enough evidence against one of the collaborators who joined the occupation administration of Svitlodarsk. This individual is originally from the occupied Donetsk, where he worked as a security guard at a private enterprise since 2014. In May 2023, the criminal voluntarily switched sides and took the position of deputy head of the city administration in Svitlodarsk.
Halyna Pryshchepa added that this criminal is actively involved in organizing propaganda events in support of the occupiers and through the media, tries to shape public opinion and the international community’s view on the legitimacy of the establishment and activities of the so-called Svitlodarsk administration.
SBU Investigating Illegal Elections in Donetsk Oblast
The SBU continues to gather evidence regarding the illegal elections in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast and the involvement of their participants in crimes against the national security of Ukraine. In particular, SBU investigators have reported suspicion to one of the collaborators who became a member of the Council of Vuhlehirsk municipal district. It was established that the criminal voluntarily nominated herself for the pseudo-elections and was elected as a deputy of the representative authority.
