iPhone 16 Pro Battery Capacity Revealed

AppleTrack insider and leading YouTube channel reported that during the testing of iPhone 16 Pro prototypes, it was found that their batteries had a capacity of 3355 mAh, which is only 2.5% more than the iPhone 15 Pro, despite the increase in size.

It is believed that the new devices may be more autonomous due to the transition to multi-layer batteries, however, the actual benefit this will bring will be shown in tests. Nevertheless, whether to expect the same increase in battery capacity as when transitioning to the iPhone 13 remains a question.

Comparison with iPhone 15 Lineup

Although Apple has never publicly disclosed the battery capacity of iPhone batteries, tests have shown the following values for the iPhone 15 lineup:

  • iPhone 15: 3349 mAh;
  • iPhone 15 Plus: 4383 mAh;
  • iPhone 15 Pro: 3274 mAh;
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max: 4422 mAh.

Modern Android smartphones have long been equipped with much larger capacity batteries. Even ultra-budget models are often equipped with batteries with a capacity of 5000/5500 mAh, and more powerful devices have capacities reaching 6000 mAh. This is important for extending the device’s lifespan.

It was previously known that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 lineup uses cheaper Chinese batteries, designed for only 600 charge cycles. For many users, the battery wear percentage has dropped below 90% within a year.
