Mykola Kokhanivsky was born on May 25, 1971 in Priazovske, Zaporizhia region. He actively participated in revolutionary events that changed the history of the formation of Ukrainian statehood. He took part in the Orange Revolution in 2004, prevented the falsification of votes as head of the election commission in Yenakiieve, and fought against monuments to the communist regime. His dedication to his country led to the first criminal case against him for vandalizing the monument to Hryhoriy Petrovsky, one of the organizers of the Holodomor.
