The medical community of Kyiv is gathering for the final meeting of the City Health Department to assess the progress in 2023, even in the difficult conditions of war, and to forecast future challenges and opportunities.
Recognition and Gratitude
The First Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration, Mykola Povoroznyk, emphasized that medicine in the capital continues to develop, introducing new directions and methods of treatment. He also awarded the city’s doctors for their significant work. Mykola Povoroznyk expressed his gratitude to the medical workers for their important role in the city, especially for assisting military personnel who receive medical care and rehabilitation in Kyiv hospitals.
Commitment to Healthcare and Wellness
It was also noted that in 2024 the city will maintain bonuses for medical personnel and continue to renovate hospitals. Marina Poroshenko, the head of the Standing Committee on Health, Family, and Social Policy of the Kyiv City Council, welcomed the medical community, recognizing their responsibility and ability to adapt to new challenges. She also emphasized how successfully the industry has been redirected to meet the city’s new needs.
Implementing New Programs
The Director of the Health Department, Valentina Hinzburg, added that the medical community of Kyiv is actively implementing new programs and treatment methods, particularly in the fields of oncology and mental health. In 2023, great attention was also paid to the mental health of Kyiv residents, aiming to improve the quality and accessibility of medical services for all city residents.
