In Lviv, fifty seedlings of «Shevchenko’s Oaks» planted from Cherkasy
In Lviv, fifty seedlings of «Shevchenko’s Oaks» were planted, brought from Cherkasy — the homeland of Taras Shevchenko. The news was announced by the Lviv Regional Administration.
New location for the seedlings
The Sknylivsky Park in Lviv became the new location for the seedlings.
Special significance
The Department of Ecology and Natural Resources emphasized that the oak seedlings were grown from acorns taken from the tree where Taras Shevchenko spent his youth and, according to local legends, kept his first drawings.
Supporting nature conservation in Ukraine
These seedlings from the small homeland of the Kobzar will soon be transferred to various parts of Ukraine for further planting. The initiative is part of the «Green Country» program initiated by the President of Ukraine, aimed at supporting nature conservation in Ukraine.
