Japan expands sanctions against Russian individuals and companies
Japan has added 12 individuals and 36 Russian companies to its «blacklist» of sanctions. Among those on the list are the head of the Chechen government, Muslim Khuchiev, and the commander of the special police unit named after Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chechnya, Zamid Chalaev. Japan also imposed sanctions against the son of the former governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, Artem Uss, who escaped from house arrest in Italy last year.
Among the entities included in the new sanction lists by Japan are the Federal State Unitary Enterprise «Atomflot», the Kalashnikov Concern, Almaz-Antey, Uralvagonzavod, Bazalt, and the United Shipbuilding Corporation. Restrictions are also being imposed on companies such as Aviadvigun, Aeroscan, Neva Electronics, and others.
The number of Russian individuals and companies under sanctions from at least one of the main Western countries-initiators has exceeded 6,000 as a result of the latest round of restrictive measures.
