Upcoming Early Presidential Elections in Iran

In connection with the tragic death of the President of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, the date for early presidential elections in the country has been determined. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, referring to IRNA.

After analyzing the terms of the electoral process, the country’s authorities have appointed June 28 as the date for the elections to elect a new president. Candidate registration will take place from May 30 to June 3, and the election campaign will run from June 12 to June 27.

According to Article 131 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a council is formed to manage the executive affairs of the country for 50 days in preparation for the presidential elections.

Death of the President of Iran

On Sunday, May 19, President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash. The incident occurred in the northern part of the country. According to the media, the crash happened due to aircraft malfunction.
