The mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, emphasizes pro-Ukrainian sentiments in the city
The mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, stated in an interview that about 95% of Kharkiv residents have pro-Ukrainian sentiments. He highlighted that only around 2% of citizens remain pro-Russian oriented, with the remaining 3% choosing not to support either side of the conflict.
«Nowadays, no one considers the Kharkiv residents ‘vatniks’. We have proven to everyone that we are Ukraine,» Terekhov emphasized.
Terekhov stressed that Kharkiv has always been a Ukrainian city, maintaining its identity during the Russian invasion. Despite Russian actions, people on the streets are increasingly communicating in Ukrainian.
The mayor expressed confidence that Russians will not be able to capture Kharkiv.
