French President to meet with party leaders to discuss situation in Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron will meet with all parliamentary party leaders on Thursday, March 7, in a meeting dedicated to the situation in Ukraine, as reported by Le Figaro.

The meeting will also be attended by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal. In a similar format, the French President met with party leaders in October 2023, a few days after attacks by Hamas on Israel, journalists note.

It is known that most opposition forces criticized Macron’s recent statement about the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine in the future.

The President’s meeting with party leaders will precede debates and a subsequent vote in parliament on supporting the bilateral agreement signed with Ukraine.

It is worth reminding that the French President stated that it cannot be ruled out that Western troops may be deployed to Ukraine in the future.
