EU countries discuss possibility of providing part of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine
Ukraine may benefit from frozen Russian assets in Europe this year, but not the full 300 billion dollars, according to EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova. In an exclusive interview with TV channel «1+1», Maternova stated that Ukraine could receive around 3 billion dollars, the estimated earned interest generated by these funds. She mentioned that there are already proposals on the table and EU countries are actively discussing this matter. Maternova noted that steps have been taken in this direction and Ukraine could potentially receive these earned percentages by the end of 2024.
