Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with a World War II veteran during a solemn ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the landing of Western allies in Normandy. This was reported by Global News.

The veteran was impressed by the presence of the President of Ukraine and even tried to kiss his hand. Zelensky responded to his gesture by bowing before him and embracing him. This happened after the veteran learned that he was in the presence of the head of the Ukrainian state.
