DTEK Renewables working on construction of large wind farm

DTEK Renewables, a leader in Ukrainian renewable energy, is currently actively working on obtaining all the necessary documents to prepare for the construction of a large wind farm. According to the company’s press service, technical conditions have already been obtained for connecting a capacity of 650 MW to the Ukrainian power grid.

Construction to start in 2025

DTEK Renewables plans to start the construction of the wind farm in 2025. «Wind energy has numerous strategic advantages, including the speed of construction and maximum generation from autumn to spring,» said Deputy CEO Oleg Solovey. «This project will be the foundation for restoring Ukraine’s energy potential in the coming years,» he added.

Met masts installed for wind monitoring

Recently, a second met mast was installed on the future wind farm site for wind monitoring campaign. It is expected that these 160-meter-high met masts will provide the opportunity for a detailed assessment of wind flows and wind strength over a large area where the wind farm is planned to be located.
