The German publication received information about pressure and blackmail used by Western allies of Ukraine to influence Kyiv. In particular, Germany and the USA threatened to cut off the supply of anti-aircraft missiles for air defense systems. Russian military aggression towards Ukraine has been ongoing for 27 months, during which time Western allies have prohibited the use of supplied weapons for strikes on Russian territory.
Violation of Prohibition
According to the BILD publication, this prohibition was violated at least once. German journalists learned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used the «Patriot» air defense system in a manner that exceeded the agreement.
Angry Reaction
It is likely that Ukrainian defenders shot down a plane over Russian territory. «Reaction: angry calls from Berlin and Washington and threats to halt the supply of anti-aircraft missiles if a similar incident recurs,» the BILD publication writes.
Need for Lifting Ban
The editorial gives an example of the need to lift the ban on strikes on Russian territory with the words of one Ukrainian fighter who is fighting near Vovchansk. On Sunday, he described the combat actions in this front section through social media.
«From 6:00 to 15:00, the Russians fired between 6 and 12 artillery shells every minute. Every minute without a break. All their artillery is located in Russia. They are shooting everywhere and burning everything: villages, Vovchansk, forests. But we cannot return fire from a safe distance with the artillery supplied by the USA (and other countries),» wrote the Ukrainian soldier.
Call for Support
Recently, several European countries have officially stated that they do not oppose strikes on Russian territory. However, the main suppliers of arms to the Armed Forces of Ukraine are the USA and Germany, which have not yet allowed this.
In Washington, discussions have already begun at the highest level regarding the lifting of the senseless ban for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The following have supported this decision:
— Secretary of State Antony Blinken;
— House Speaker Mike Johnson;
— Bipartisan group of congressmen.
