The Danish parliament has refused to recognize the Palestinian state, disagreeing with the proposal of left-wing parties. A representative of one of these parties, Sascha Faxe, argued that this decision is necessary to achieve stable peace in the Middle East.
However, most Danish politicians believe that without a two-state solution in the Middle East, there can be no lasting peace. Nevertheless, the parliament rejected this proposal, supporting the Danish government’s position on the absence of necessary conditions for recognizing the Palestinian state.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen expressed the opinion that Palestine does not meet the criteria for statehood, as there is no effective governing body and control over the territory.
