Minister of Energy Announces Freeze on Electricity Tariffs Until 2025
Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko, in response to a request from MP Oleksiy Kucherenko, announced that the electricity tariff for household consumers will remain unchanged until May 1, 2025, according to Resolution No. 632. This information was published in a document that the parliamentarian posted on his Facebook page.
IMF Urges Tariff Increases, But No Decision Yet
It is worth noting that the International Monetary Fund emphasized the need to lift the moratorium on price increases, but no official decisions have been made on this issue yet.
Update on IMF Memorandum and Tariff Increases
It is also worth mentioning that the memorandum with the International Monetary Fund has been updated, providing Ukraine with assistance in the amount of 8 billion euros. However, one of the conditions of this assistance is an increase in gas and electricity tariffs for the population.
Electricity Tariffs Increase as of June 1
As of June 1, there has already been an increase in electricity tariffs in Ukraine. The average electricity bill now stands at 734.4 UAH, compared to the previous 448.8 UAH. This increase is due to the tariff rising from 2.64 to 3.32 UAH per 1 kWh.
