Student Protests in Bangladesh Lead to Closure of Educational Institutions

Starting from July 17, all public and private educational institutions in Bangladesh will be closed indefinitely. This decision comes as a response to the student protests that have erupted across the country, following clashes over government quotas for positions.

The protests have been fueled by dissatisfaction with the 30% reserved seats in government positions for family members of independence war veterans. The demonstrations have turned deadly, prompting authorities to shut down schools and colleges to ensure the safety of students and staff.
