Outrage in Ukrainian Society Over Offensive Jokes
Just days after the scandalous «joke» by Viktoriya Taran about widows, Ukrainian society is outraged by a new stand-up routine from comedian Lera Mandziuk, in which she made offensive jokes about children with disabilities.
During her performance, the humorist talked to a teacher’s assistant who works in a classroom with inclusive education. The woman shared how she helps children with special needs in their learning, to which Mandziuk replied, «they are the dumbest.»
«I understand that teachers have a hard time now, because this generation, kids are too distracted by phones. And you still have to work with such kids who are the dumbest and difficult to deal with,» the comedian said during her performance.
The reactions on social media were negative. Many users expressed their outrage at such attitude towards children with special needs, emphasizing the importance of respect and empathy in comedians’ performances.
It is worth noting that earlier, Viktoriya Taran caused a wide resonance with her «joke» about widows, which also sparked a heated discussion in the Ukrainian internet space.
