French President Macron Urges Voters to Reject Extremism
French President Emmanuel Macron has called on the French to refrain from voting for extremists ahead of the early parliamentary elections scheduled for June 30. Macron made these remarks during the Music Festival held at the Elysee Palace, expressing confidence in the intelligence and strength of the French people.
Macron emphasized the need to prevent extremists from dividing the nation and governing against the will of the people. He defended his decision to dissolve parliament, urging citizens not to fear this initiative.
A survey suggests that the far-right could win an absolute majority in the National Assembly, but caution is advised due to the possibility of a second round of elections on July 7. Macron’s decision to dissolve parliament led to a decrease in his rating by six points, following his party’s defeat in the European Parliament elections.
