Ukrainians were reminded of the conditions that can lead to refusal of housing subsidies and how to resolve them.

According to a message on the Government Online portal, housing subsidies are an important social mechanism to support low-income citizens by partially compensating for the costs of paying for utilities. However, to receive them, certain rules must be followed, with the important requirement of having no arrears on utility bills. If such arrears exist, it may lead to the refusal of granting a subsidy.

In this case, an individual can continue to receive assistance if they pay off the debt, enter into an agreement to restructure the arrears, or challenge it in court. If these issues are resolved within two months from the start of the non-heating season, then from May 1, 2024, the housing subsidy can be expected to be granted.
