In the Peremyshlianska community in Lviv region, local residents made an unusual act by rescuing a buzzard with a broken tarsal bone in its right leg.
The incident occurred when the bird, belonging to the hawk family and being the most numerous predatory bird in Ukraine, collided with a net fence during its flight.
The residents of the village of Malyi Polyuhiv sought help from the Department of Ecology, after which the buzzard was taken to a veterinary clinic for examination and further treatment.
Specialists identified the damage and prescribed a rehabilitation course for it at the «Free Wings» center.
