In Odessa, official detained for attempting to receive a bribe
In a recent development, law enforcement officers in Odessa have apprehended an official who was caught trying to receive a bribe of nine thousand dollars from a military serviceman. The official had promised to assist in obtaining the disability status of the second group for the soldier’s mother, a move that would facilitate his discharge from service.
As per the State Bureau of Investigations, the official was taken into custody while receiving the agreed sum of money. The suspect had guaranteed to leverage his connections with medical professionals to secure a forged medical certificate affirming the disability.
Under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the activities of the detained individual fall under the category of providing unlawful benefits to a public official.
