Driver of BMW Arrested for Opening Fire During Road Conflict in Odessa
In Odessa, a driver of a BMW was arrested for opening fire during a road conflict that occurred on April 14 near the Railway Square. The incident escalated between the drivers of a Toyota and a BMW when the 33-year-old driver of the Toyota did not give way to the 36-year-old owner of the BMW, who had the right of way.
After the BMW driver took out an airsoft gun, he fired several shots through the open window of the opponent’s car, hitting the Toyota driver in the neck with a plastic bullet. The victim reported the incident to the police and received treatment for a soft tissue wound to the neck.
The perpetrator was arrested, and the airsoft gun was seized for examination. He is suspected under Article 296 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism), which carries a punishment of up to seven years in prison. The police are preparing a motion to apply a preventive measure to the suspect.
