Law enforcement officers have detained two citizens of one of the countries of the South Caucasus who were planning a missile strike on the headquarters of the Defense Forces in the Odessa region.

According to the SBU press service:

The brothers were working for the FSB and were collecting intelligence on the deployment of Ukrainian troops in order to pinpoint their coordinates on Google Maps. They were gathering data on personnel, military equipment, and activities at the bases.

They used their connections among local residents to gather information.

The detainees also established a public organization in the city, which operated under the guise of providing assistance with the legalization of foreigners in Ukraine, but in reality, they were trying to recruit informants.

In case of obtaining intelligence, the occupiers planned to target the military infrastructure and combat positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Currently, the detainees have been charged under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to 12 years in prison.
