Tragic Incident in Novosinovo Village
According to the first deputy head of the Kupiansk district military administration, Andriy Kanashevych, a man was killed in the village of Novosinovo in the Kupiansk district as a result of enemy shelling on April 2, and his 11-year-old son was seriously injured and later died in the hospital.
He noted that Novosinovo is located on the left bank of the Oskol River and, according to the decision of the Defense Council of the Kharkiv region and the order of the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, is among the settlements that fall under the mandatory evacuation of children with their parents or guardians.
Therefore, as emphasized by Kanashevych, there should not have been any children in the village under such conditions.
The official revealed that this family had resisted evacuation for a long time and postponed it until the last minute, believing that they could stay that way. However, he said that with the joint efforts of the local authorities, the police, and the coordination humanitarian center, they were able to convey to the parents the futility of ignoring the evacuation requirements. And on November 23, 2023, the mother and two children left for Kharkiv three weeks after the evacuation was announced.
«But, as often happens, many people believe that disaster will pass them by, that danger applies to everyone except them, that nothing will happen to them, that it is safer here, and so on. Obviously, having such thoughts, the family decided to secretly return to the dangerous territory. And here is the result — a terrible one,» Kanashevych said.
