Opera singer Valentina Pluzhnykova, who played the lead role in the performance of «Carmen,» was unexpectedly dismissed from the Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Solomiya Krushelnytska.
The reason for this was that, according to the theater’s management, the woman appeared on the same stage with Russians during her training in Italy.
This scandal has already received a response from the artist on her Facebook page.
«The time has come for me to speak out after Lviv Opera left me in the mud. I am Valentina Pluzhnikova — a Ukrainian opera singer. I was born, raised, lived, and received my higher education in Ukraine. I am the first Ukrainian in the history of the Metropolitan Opera to intern at this theater. I am 27 years old, a young singer who, despite my young age, has completed internships at the opera academy in the Warsaw Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, and the La Scala Theater Academy. I studied in the program for young singers at the Salzburg Festival in 2019 and Corso d’Opera in Italy in 2018,» Valentina noted.
