The European Business Association (EBA) Warns of Negative Consequences
The European Business Association (EBA) stated that the lack of amendments in the proposed draft law on mobilization could lead to serious negative consequences for the economy and society as a whole. The association expressed disagreement with the initiated law, adopted by the members of the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading on February 7, and emphasized that it not only disregards the opinion of the business sector but also contradicts the constitutional principles of Ukraine.
EBA representatives expressed concerns about a number of provisions in the draft law, including mandatory registration in the conscript’s electronic cabinet, introduction of new requirements for military registration for citizens residing abroad, and additional powers for the police and authorities, which could lead to corruption risks and burden on businesses.
