Deputy Commander of Ukrainian Armed Forces Warns of Potential «Internal Slaughter» if Military Operations Freeze

Yevhen Karas, deputy commander of the 14th separate regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has voiced concerns over the possibility of an «internal slaughter» if military operations were to be frozen in Ukraine. Speaking on the project «Tema with Natalia Moseychuk,» Karas emphasized that Ukrainian society has not fully embraced democracy, which could lead to catastrophic consequences.

According to Karas, a ceasefire without a victory for Ukraine would play into the hands of Russia, allowing them to resume military activities and ease international pressure. This, in turn, would result in internal turmoil within Ukraine, with potential economic consequences and an exodus of people.

Karas also cautioned that Western support for Ukraine could diminish if military operations were halted, as the West believes that Ukraine has the capacity to defend itself against Russian aggression. Despite the risks, Karas expressed confidence that Ukrainians would be prepared to defend their country in any circumstances, even if it meant resorting to manual labor.
