Return of land to communities: court resolves case in Donetsk region

Court satisfied the civil requirements of Volnovakha district prosecutor’s office regarding the return of 106 hectares of land to the community worth 153 million hryvnias. This was reported by the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.

Land Transfer Scandal Uncovered

According to the evidence presented by the prosecutor’s office, in 2019, 53 residents of Donetsk region applied to the Main Department of the StateGeoCadastre in the region with statements requesting free transfer of land plots in Volnovakha district, each of them wanted to become the owner of 2 hectares of land for personal farming.

However, it was found that the land, worth a total of 153 million hryvnias, was transferred to them in violation of the established procedure without approval of land management projects based on fictitious documents.

Agreeing with the well-founded legal position of the prosecutor’s office, the court recognized the registration of property rights on agricultural land as illegal and returned them in favor of the Velikonovosilkivska territorial community.

The court decision has come into legal force.
