The Future of Corporate Expense Management

The company that uses technology to prevent abuse of corporate expense cards has just attracted 8 million euros ($8.6 million) in investments from investors, despite the lull in financial technology.

CleverCards, based in Dublin, uses a digital platform connected to customizable expense cards to give companies control over how their employees use corporate payment cards.

According to a global survey by Robert Half CFO company in 2016, employees made several inappropriate expense requests, including visits to a dog salon, taxidermy services, dance classes, a beef party, and even a welder.

These requests, though bizarre, reflect the harsh reality for many companies regarding corporate expenses: sometimes, they cannot trust the judgment of their employees.

CleverCards CEO, Kieran Lennon, says that his platform aims to address this issue.
