NASA’s Perseverance Rover Discovers Unusual Mineral Veins on Mars

NASA’s Perseverance Rover has once again amazed the scientific world by discovering unusual mineral veins on Mars, similar to those found on Earth in moist conditions. This new discovery took place in the region known as «Bright Angel,» where the rover is exploring an ancient river delta that once emptied into the Jezero Crater.

During the expedition, scientists noticed bright white rocks, which they dubbed «popcorn rocks» due to their unique features. Some of these rocks contained spheres and revealed mineral veins, indicating the past existence of water on Mars.

Researchers plan to thoroughly analyze the composition of these mineral veins using the rover’s instruments, including the SuperCam. Information about the chemical composition of the rocks will help determine whether samples need to be collected for further study on Earth.

Perseverance continues its mission, exploring the region and collecting scientific data to help unravel the mysteries of Mars and its history.
